Hi Mariano ..
First, let me wish you and your family a very Happy New Year ! :~)
And...May you have continued succees with your paintings..

Much to be learned from this piece, Mariano.
I really like the crispness of the foreground edge of the table (with the knot)and the contrast of the parallel lost edge of the table in the background.

Have a great new year.

Hi Vic,
Thanks for your lovely comment,i had a pentimento after Daniel Edmonson critique, so I spent the first 4 hours of 2010 working on it.
Darkened the background, reduced the scattered light on the vase and the highlights on the grapes. Was fun and is a stronger piece now. All is well with us, Happy 2010

I really enjoy the colorful darkness of it-- it is not a stodgy still life... It is formal in a way ..but has a decided festive quality--it feels like a celebration --very fitting for the first day of 2010!

Hi Celeste,
Your comment makes me happy, what a better way to start the new year than painting? I could not have done this without the help from Daniel Edmonson. It is great to be helped by such a great teacher and talented artist. Wishing for you a 2010 full of beautiful art.
