Hi Mariano, it's great. You are amazing. How long did it take you to complete this large painting. Do you work from a photo? Your colors sing. Simply breath taking.

Caro Marco,

Hi Joan,
I am so happy you like it, I appreciate your time and your comments. I did about the same painting a couple of months ago in 16x20"but was too crowded, and felt the need for a bigger canvas do try to do justice to the piece, took me 5 day (8 hours day ~) plus 6 hours for the imprimatura. Abbazia is e very painterly place and yes worked from a printout 8x10" from a photo that Maeve (my wife)took last summer. I slept in the Hotel Opatija more than one night. The subject of another of my small painting; I know the town pretty well, is a beautiful place.

Wow! my friend. Wonderful painting. You say it took you five days, eight hours a day? I`m afraid I haven`t got that much patience as you know Mariano. Probably your patience is why you are coming along in leaps a bounds eh? All the best my friend.
Vic.

Hi Vic,
Thank you very much, it was a complex drawing, is amazing how many mistakes you can make in a drawing specially that big. It stands out, so you have to reconsider and redraw, it does take time at least for me. The painting was the pleasurable time at least for me, as time fly when you have fun; mix and paint , mix and paint!

Browsing through some of your paintings. They are very nice. This one is particularly interesting. Seems to spell life in community living.

Hi Arti,
Yes did it 2 months ago but a 16x20" , this is 32x36 and a bigger area is drawn to include the all waterpolo pool. It was difficoult to mantein the focus on the church spires, the window were easy because of the size(more than a brushstroke wide). The background is very thinly painted, the water very thickly, the building thinly first than with really thick paint were i wonted my accent light to hit. So happy you like it better! Thanks for your support.

Hi Celeste,
You seem antusiastic about this one, and I am very happy for it. My good friend Alberto Valentini in Le Hague suggested to me to try bigger size as there is more freedom , and he is right. Opatija is a beutiful place much better than in my oil.
